Continued on the Pillars of the New Testament Church

PILLAR 7 – UNITY

There was undoubtedly a cry from the heart of Father God to His body – ” they be one, even as We are one”.

A cry, a desire and a declaration rises from earth – ” we are one, even as You are one, Father, Son and Holy Spirit”.

UNITY – an integral pillar in manifesting the tangible presence of God.

As it brings blessings, power and the glory. (Psalm 133)( 2 Chronicles 5:12-14)

We are called to operate and function as ONE body, as the is only:

– One Spirit

– One hope

– One Lord

– One faith

– One baptism

– One God

– One Father (Ephesians 4:1-6)

And God placed over us, the 5 fold ministry:

– Some Apostles

– Some Prophets

– Some Pastors

– Some Teachers

– Some Evangelists

To equip the saints, for the work of the ministry:

– Till we attain unity of faith

– To come into a perfect man

– Ultimate is to be like JESUS

– Speak the truth in love

– Be fitly and perfectly joined together

God is earnestly seeking a gathering, a place where a company of hungry people are united, as He desperately wants to manifest Himself. (Acts 2:1-4)

From the beginning of creation, we see the unity of the Godhead, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are co-existent, co-eternal and co-equal.

Let “us” denote unity of the Godhead in creation. (Genesis 1:26-28)

Once again, the working together of Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the baptism of Jesus. (Matthew 3:14)

The comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, will teach you all things and bring to remembrance all things I have taught you. (John 14:26)

The Godhead always working in unison.

Jesus equates the mystery of marriage to Christ and the church. The more you love and are united with Christ, the more you love and are united with your spouse. (Amos 3:3)

Let us exemplify the unity of the Tri-une God and endeavour to keep the unity of the faith.

Finally, be practical about unity!
